Title: Tahoe area clean aid practice
Post by: csproul on August 15, 2014, 03:57:33 pm
Looking for suggestions on routes/areas that would be good aid/hauling/etc. practice in the Tahoe area.
Not crowded (don't want to be in the way)
Continuous (crack/flake) features so I don't have to break out too many free moves
Preferably not too far a walk so I don't have to carry too much stuff a ways

I've tried The Fracture and Farley at Sugarloaf and they worked ok.
I think there's a couple steep cracks at Phantom Spires that might qualify (maybe Leaner and Meaner?)

If you're into the north shore, anything on snowshed at night.. tons of splitters. Too busy during the day but good night practice. Also Star Wars Crack, good crack to get some steep practice on.

90 Foot wall should be doable and those flaring cracks will get you closer to C2 than C1 and you can't beat the approach but crowdscrowdscrowds

Pie shop's got some good lines, True Grip should be aidable with some free at the end IIRC. Not sure how they'll work for aid since i've only freeclimbed there.

First pitch of Out the Big Top at the Leap is a good practice pitch.  The second pitch is the horror show.
