Big Wall Forum / Gramicci single ledge on MP (with fly)
« on: February 12, 2013, 08:43:06 pm »

Cross-post from Mountain Project:  Gramicci single portaledge

Looks like somebody could get a good deal on a single ledge, as his asking price is $200 shipped.

Sucks to be unemployed.  Otherwise, I'd be all over this like ugly on an ape.  <sigh>

we're climbers living in trucks and vans down by the river.

Trucks and vans...?

I'm living out of a solo tent that I share with 52 of my relatives, where we don't even have a sleeping bag to share amongst the entire family.  Trucks and vans would be luxury to us!

And we don't even have a river!

Still, I guess it's not as bad as the lot these guys had as kids...

Ding ding ding we have our fat guy!

I'm buying it from him.  Thanks so much for sharing it here.  I can't wait for it to arrive.  What a beaut!

Woot!  Good on ya!

Post up action pics when you take it up the next wall...  ;-)

For sale over on Cascade Climbers Yard Sale (link).  Unused, just sitting in storage for years.  Man, I wish I lived in Seattle instead of New England!

Somebody here should be all over this deal like a fat guy on an all-you-can-eat buffet...

« on: August 16, 2012, 09:01:49 pm »
I use Ironclad framers gloves. Your ring, and pinkie fingers are completely covered, but your middle index, and thumb are exposed. They are thin, but tough, and have subtle palm padding.

After consultation with The Google, it appears that Mechanix also makes a framer's glove that looks a bit burlier than the Ironclad one -- the palm padding looks like you could haul a bunch more pitches before it wears out.  Price is about half of the leather Metolius/BD versions, too.  This might just be the hot lick bigwall glove!

Cobble, I bet you'll find that the synthetic gloves dry out better at the end of the day than the leathers, leaving them less stiff/more supple in the long run.

Nice score!

I was gonna post an FYI about that fly when I saw it on eBay (along with a BD single), but thought that might just lead to a senseless bidding war.  Glad I kept my mouth shut!  ;-)
