Planning on finally getting up Half Dome this May and El Cap this September! After wanting to get up these biggest of walls for years, I'm finally getting up there. Not as advanced or epic as what all you Big Wall veterans are doing, but my big wall stoke is high! Woohoo!

New headlamp is in, since my Petzl Myo XP decided to develop a short while being stored this winter.  Backup-backup Ion headlamp has a fresh battery since it got used up last year (partner's main lamp died, he forgot his spare, and he left my backup one down in the bags on day one, making me glad I had two on my person).

Best place for spare batteries and bulb is... in... another headlamp.  Love micro headlamps. Remember the old mega big petzls that you needed c batteries for. Loved the zoom, but carrying spare batteries. meh. Now I got lamps in my truck, pack, back of the truck, garage, utility drawer.

I have an irrational urge to take a cheapy headlamp up some time.  Wait till after dusk, chuck it off and make a blood curdling yell.  Werner would kill me if I got caught...

If you have some cleaning skills, a hammer and funk, you will clean up on the Zodiac.  There were loads of crap on it in the end of October.  Many angles on the nipple, some fixed beaks and blades elsewhere....If you have copper heading skills and a butterknife, you could clean and replace a few really manky heads.  That would be a good service, but I would only do it if you are confident with your heading skills.

It looks like our plans have changed to Never Never Land in late June.

Anybody done it in the late spring? Wondering if cracks will be all wet...

Hey guys,
I will be in the Valley,  if you go to the Bridge ask Tom Evans about me (Jeff) aka Dope Miller.  He will point me out and I will give you a free t-shirt. (while they last.

I spent a few nights soloing on the Squamish Chief last week.  While having breakfast on day 2 I got to see a peregrine in full dive catch a sparrow, maybe 50 feet from my ledge.  Pretty incredible - I f**king love portaledge camping!
