Yos or Zion 12th-24 of April
« on: April 09, 2011, 07:19:39 pm »
Hey guys,

I have April 12th-24h available.  Anyone up for a wall in Yos or Zion? Coming from Southern CA, I can drive.
Did WFLT last november and some of SFWC last spring so I have a little experience, but looking to improve.
Very excited to get back up there.

Zion should be much much dryer than Yosemite right now.  The record snow levels in the Sierra's is melting and lots of things are soaked.

The vigin river has been running really high the last week and will probably continue to grow as snow melts occurs... I've crossed it up to 250cfs but the last few days it has been running at 800 +

What this means is that access to Angels Landing, Moonlight isn't so straightforward as you have to go via the old climbers trail from the Angels Landing Trail. Its okay, but makes a 30 minute approach into an hour and a half. There are lots of false leads and it pays to scout the trail without gear first.
