Mark... Tell us about the mountain gear catalogue...
« on: April 11, 2011, 02:09:36 am »
So I saw an interesting picture on the bigwall gear page of the new mountain gear catalogue, Mark. Kind of a perfect add for Metolius haul bags...Good pic of John, and it's good to see some real people that truly love the big stone in those pages, that pour their heart and soul into a climb like that...

Plus you got John's fuzzy green pillow in the pic too!

I haven't seen it! I sent Brook Sandahl of Metolius, photos of the Shield and my solo. He told me he was sending some to Mt. Gear.

More later when I see it.

Okay, I just got the catalogue.

That's John on the Shield at the anchor at the end of the Groove pitch, just below the Triple Cracks. Yeah, it is a good one for the Metolius products.

It was interesting to me to discover that the Groove actually doesn't overhang a single bit the whole way. The pitch before the Groove overhangs a lot, probably the most overhung of the route aside from the Roof, and then the Triple Cracks overhang a fair amount.

You'll see John and I, sporting the same bags, up on ZM this spring!

it pays to have a camera, eh?  I always am so lazy with it.  I have told myself I will take a few more moments to snap some photos this season...

Plus I have to photograph those Totem Cams being bad ass (review coming in a month or so)!

If you have a fairly good camera and can take fairly good photos, it's a pretty nice way to make a few dollars here and there. Max and I used to finance our climbing trips across the US by giving slide shows back then.
