Comprehensive list of clean aid routes on the Captain?
« on: August 25, 2011, 02:41:29 pm »
So does anybody know if somebody has kept or printed a list of what routes on the Captain currently go clean?  I've seen various routes mentioned on the super taco, but haven't found any list that breaks down which ones go clean, and which ones still require some nailing.

Let's start here.

These are all the ones I know about pretty much for sure have gone clean, (although none that I know of have gone clean-clean (no non drilled gear used)).

The West Face
The Dihedral Wall
Salathe Wall
The Shield
The Nose
Mescalito
Zenyatta Mondatta
Zodiac

Thanks,

I'm not concerned with routes that were originally nailed or drilled, I'm more interested in what is currently going clean, or mostly clean.  I figure a few pins and copperheads burried in the haul bag in the event of blown fixed gear is good insurance.

I would bet that all the "trade routes" would go with 20 or less hammered pieces, and I'll bet again that those hammered pieces are mostly Tomahawks or Beaks.

Tangerine Trip should be on that list too.  We tapped a few pins back into place, but it had been ~6 months of winter since the last party.  We added none, and figured it should go clean for most parties.

I thought I'd also heard of folks doing North American Wall clean?  Not sure.

on zod the rumor is that it got scrubbed of a lot of fixed gear several years ago, so that it's 'clean' status was thrown back into the mix. But since I'm only hearsay and rumor, who knows.
