Yates Slimline Elite BW rope (10.3mm)
« on: October 08, 2013, 02:59:33 pm »
Does anyone have any experience with the Yates Slimline Elite 10.3mm rope?

I've been using the Mammut supersafe (10.5mm) up until now. The Mammut is almost 300 dollars.

The 10.3mm x 70m std Slimline Elite is $206.95, and the dry version $220.95.

Thanks.

john

I'm using the Mammut Supersafe (I think it's 10.2mm) and a Sterling Evolution bi-pattern 10.1mm that I'm not sure they still make. The 10.3 Yates is the same core as the Yates 10.8 Enduro, according to the website. The difference is the burly sheath. Both are made in a partnership with Bluewater Ropes. Are you looking at the Double Dry, because that would be the direct comparison with the Mammut Supersafe. I think one reason for the big price difference is the tariff, which has always been the case with some of the Euro ropes.

Slight thread drift... Again

I'm prob getting a new lead rope soon and want to go 70m. I use a static haul line; what length of static will equal a normal 10mm dynamic lead rope?
Sometimes the difference between a layman and a journeyman is simply what he is allowed to believe himself to be.

Yes, the double dry.

I have  70m 9.5mm bluewater static that I like. 230 feet.

I've had two of the Yates 10.3 BW lines. I'd highly recommend that cord. They also aren't going to make that same one anymore so I'd pick it up for sure.

Sometimes I succeed. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes I am too lazy to do either.
