Hat trick on Washington Column

The weather in the valley is sweet. My buddy and I started with South Face at 3 am and topped out at 7 am and rapped back to dinner ledge. We then blasted up Skull Queen and topped out at noon. We took a brief break before rapping the South Face again and then jumping on the Prow. The Prow took us a little longer due to folks nailing on pitches and being hesitant to let us pass. After much coaxing we passed them and topped out right at dark. We have done each of these routes a number of times in the past, both with bivies and speed ascents. I'm not a big fan of doing speed ascents because you miss out on the Big wall experience. But this is great training on routes we've done before and it spanked the crap out of us. The column really is one of Yosemites finest walls. Not terribly tall and a great sampler of grades to satisfy the rookie to the seasoned wall rat.

Kick ass! Sounds like one hell of a day of climbing. Is it getting pretty cold these days climbing in the wee hours before light? I'm planning on pulling an alpine start next week.

I was in the valley they also. Hiked down
NDG after RA and got to stare at WC again. Never touched it myself, but sounds like you own it. Did you haul?

No I did not haul on any of these routes that day. Brought up a small pig with water and food that we left at the base to resupply ourselves. A small bullet pack with "supplies" are all we brought up the routes!
