Where to leave car for LT?

Where's the best place to leave a car overnight while on Leaning Tower? The next pullout after the LT/Bridalveil picnic area?

Right in the Bridalveil Falls parking lot. Make sure you get all the food/garbage out of it, obviously.

Really? I thought that lot was gated and posted "no overnight parking"? Are there bear boxes there?

Hm, unless something has changed, I've parked there 5 or so times climbing the LT. Been a few years though.

I think there might be some bear boxes there, but not sure. If not the closest are at El Cap bridge.

Go get'er! Yer gunna die!

Officially you can't park overnight in the parking lot but I've done it with no problems. When I'm feeling weird about it, I'll park off the shoulder right across from the entrance to the parking lot.
Sometimes the difference between a layman and a journeyman is simply what he is allowed to believe himself to be.

So I was there the last two days. There are "no overnight parking" signs in the parking lot. I parked on the parallel pullout just past the turn for 41, right where you can see Bridalveil Falls from the main loop road, and walked a few minutes back. Van was still there when I got back and no ticket, so I suppose all was good! I was told there are bear boxes behind the bathroom at the lot, but I never bothered to look for them, I just made sure there was nothing in the van that we were leaving (except a couple cold beers, of course).

There was a rescue 'copter on the way out, maybe in the area of Lower Cathedral...anyone know what's up?

When we climbed it last year in July and parked in the parallel/shoulder areas just down the street past the 41 turn like csprowl was saying. No problems there; parked overnight. Left any other food stuff in bear boxes behind the bathrooms.

We saw the signs and figured it was not worth the hassle. It's a few minutes walk from down the street, and the person who stays with the gear in the parking lot can get last minute stuff ready (i.e. pooping).
