I parked at the awhanee. Clean up the rig so it doesn't look like a dirtbag is living in it. No wrappers on the floorboards.
Shouldn't be an issue for a couple nights. Don't use their valet lot though.

Last time I was up there, I had a campsite in the Pines so we walked from there. I thought about using the Ahwanhnee, but assumed it would be full on a weekend early in the morning when I plan to arrive.

sorry, you're right. weekends there can be hard pressed for space. Though with all the smoke, it may be pretty empty. Easy to drive in and look around.

There is something special about taking one last crap in the Awhanee before heading up.

You also gotta dump the poop tube in the garbage can by the front door on your way out.

Happened to be plenty of spots in the Ahwahnee PL. Not a problem this time. It was HOT and we bailed from about p7 or so. Out of water and too slow. No crowds on Saturday at all,  just one IAD party, but a horde showed up on Sunday while we were headed down.

Hauling up to Dinner sucked. I'm not sure how to make it better except to just not haul.

good deal on parking!

sweet, you get to do the 'nutting' pitch? I think that's 7.

Water is life!

Having your second go with the bag seemed to help on first dragger pitch.

Going in winter when you don't have to do as much water was a plus for me and Kalen. We only got to the nutting pitch.  I wanted Kalen to clean it. lol I was pretty pooped by then. Rap and clean.  Good trip.

thx for posting up!  load some pics!

Yes, I did 6 and 7. Really nice pitches. It looked like some nice free climbing coming up.

The worst of the hauling was the 3rd pitch up to Dinner. We had the 2nd jug next to the bag for all three of the pitches. We did not haul past Dinner. I think a good strategy might be to go light enough to have the 2nd wear the pack/bag up to DInner or at least use a very small haul bag and maybe a small pack for the 2nd up to Dinner. IDK, it wasn't the weight so much as the friction and the bag catching on everything.

We had 3.25 gallons of water and we could have easily used another gallon.

I'm a little computer inept and am working on some photos. I have to host them elsewhere first.

Good pics, csproul......I left my rig at the Ahwahnee when we climbed Afroman and a bear got it. They didn't tow it, just left me a note, " a bear broke into your vehicle"....like I couldn't tell already.  I've parked there a lot over the years, and that was the only problem I ever had.....

picturas!! esta bien!

btw, anyone else ever spray bug repellant around the openings of their vehicle to keep bears out?

It tastes nasty to me. I can't imagine a bear sniffing it and not getting a whiff and thinking "yeah, I'd love to get me some of that!"

FWIW Every time I have climbed WC I have spoken with Valet dudes at the Ahwahnee beforehand to check in with them about parking and they're super cool. They hire those people to work with the worst of the worst rich people, they've always been super receptive. And if you go in the morning, waltz in like you're supposed to be there...head upstairs to the women's restroom area...free coffee/tea every morning. They really never care.

HAHAHA I'll even add this little story:
One time were heading to the base when my girlfriend locked the car...with the keys and phones inside in her pack. The valet dudes saw me using sticks to unlock the door and ran over to give me a coat hanger and gave my girlfriend their phone to call AAA.
