Cool, doods. Hope to see ya there. Hope you guys are going big. Gas prices mandate maximizing number of pitches per mile driven, y'know.

Cheers...

werd, gotta get the shell on the truck, then I'm set.  I'm hoping to go big, but so far no takers.  Though definite got some folks wanting to do some Grade V timing in the later part of the week. But VI is the plan.  Hopefully when I pull up Saturday a.m. Ammon will bump into me and ask me if I want to join his latest speed ascent.  LOL!!!  :)

LOL! now you're thinking

worse to worse, I'll look to solo a V.  I may still be able to keep the silent partner I've borrowed thru May.

Hehe...Don't let Ammon hear ya say that...next thing ya know you'll be ropin' up for a sufferfest--!

Munge, why not solo the Cap? If you can do a 5, you can do the Cap. Cracko's gonna be there, I'm pretty sure, doing that. Kia just busted out his first EC route solo last year. I'm sure there will be others there pumping up your psyche...the ElCapPics show at the bridge, helpful monkeys all around doin' the tribal dance...I'll be there late this month thru ??. You send that big thing and I'll sport you a victory twelver for gettin me and everybody psyched. You can do it if you just decide to...persistence and attitude pay huge dividends. OOOHHHHHH-AHHHHHHRRRRGGGG! Psyche up humping loads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tell ya, it's a pyschological crux for me.  Maybe September if I can get this rig rocking.  Really need to hone my solo set up.  It still feels new.  Primarily, the continous loop set up.  Seems like Lambone and others are having some solid experience with it.

Soloing always makes me appreciate my partners more, so I'm kinda tracking back to partners.

kewl, see ya'lls there.

back to training...  curls at the office, hiking the neighborhood at night, and sit ups when I get home.   abs hurt today.  soooo out of shape.

"...it's a pyschological crux..."

You said a mouthful there. Wha, you think yer speshull?? It's a psyche crux for everyone! It's aid climbing fuhgodzsake!!!

I still say you got what it takes, Munge. Kia was scared shitless the entire time, but he did SEND. Gas ain't gettin' cheaper...MAXIMIZE!!!

It's only the crux until you do it.

Don't do what I do, imagine the whole damn thing as one big effort. Break it down into smaller pieces.

1. Hump load to base.
2. Hump second load to base
3. Climb and fix pitch one
4. Go to deli for beta
5 etc.

You'll get there.

Ani't you psyched now?

Munge, I will be in the valley and should be off of the cap by then. Problem is I am bringing a rope gun to the valley and he has some goals to attain. I cannot climb at his level and I most ceartainly cannot climb at yours yet, but if he finds a partner for his free lines I would love to apprentice something hard. I have gear and willing to work and not go down. Possible?
What say you? Worth an E-mail or phone call?
I'm reasonably sure I can jug up to A4.

hahaha, someone must be filling your head with lies.  just because I post alot doesn't mean I climb worth a shit.

I'm looking at getting in line on the Nose.  Fire me an email.  Let's talk goals.  Schedule is primary I think.  Time to pack, fix, and finish, assuming the weather holds.

I'd send and E-mail but the address seems to be hidden. Actually the Nose is where we should be coming off of when you arrive. My e-mail is xtrmecat@bresnan.net .
I will be out hiking today on the East side of Glacier Park but will check the forum and E-mail from time to time when the wife and I return.

So Munge what's your partner situation looking like?

I'm hoping to be done on the 21st, in the valley by 22.
and I did say hope. I'm so buried right now things are desperate :)

Looking forward to a wall one way or another.

latest person bailed, though he had the whole time available at first.   A buddy is coming in at middle or end of the week and may be able to light me up, basically about the same time you have. he's not sure either. moving out of his old place, fully committing to the road and all that can be a hassle.   Get out of dodge early Rags and we'll hit it. I can hump water and fix a pitch or two to prime it.  Let's talk pace and your head space with all that work shit.  Ping me on email.

i'm also thinking I might chongo nation it.  do a few pitches here and there and just sleep on the wall all week. ;)

worse to worse, if no stone monkeys are bridge or board able, then I'm looking to get my solo rig together. I might do The Prow again.  It's a known quantity and in some respects would be a good first solo wall.  but for the hauling on pitch 14 or 15 Lurking Fear might be the ticket too.
