Freak Show or Prow
« on: September 23, 2008, 11:34:38 pm »
So just got back from a new backcountry free route and I'm psyched to get high on a wall again.

Might be able to swing an extra day around a weekend, so the question is what to do.  More free climbing projects on the weekend while weather is good, or try and tap a wall.

Freak Show is such a groovy route and location I'm psyched to get back in there if temps are good. But I suspect the crown valley fire has it all smokey in there.

More likely to get a partner for Prow anyways.  So maybe the question is - do the Prow in a push?

hrm, questions by the light of computer glow.

Prow in a push would be fun Munge! I did Skull Queen in a push and that is a fun alternative if the Prow is crowded.

i figure there's more tougher stuff on Skull, so it would slow me down. How are conditions at this point in the season?

These nothing on the Queen that will slow you down except the constant traffic on the 1st few pitches.  The loose rock at the top is more grainy than loose.

The Prow is way more classic, but the Queen is a good outing in its own right.

Go for Freak Show in late April or early May 2009.

CP, that actually works better for requesting plenty of time off.

It'd really do your heart good to get up there, Rob. You know it's true.
Looks like a picture window. Just jump on in. I thought the Prow was a fine line, myself, if ya don't want to make the trek to the Freak(isn't that a little ways in?)  Totally worthy. Get yer ass up there, man.
I know where I'll be, in two weeks. I'll be sailin' the Seas of Stone, man.
Dig it!

That's a shot of Mooch after we "fixed to the top of 4"

Sorry, I bumped an old thread for those that thought we may have been in Yos.

Kind of wet Sunday morning, eh?

It sucked to come down, but as I look out my window this morning, hindsight is 20/20...
