I am a new guy
« on: September 01, 2009, 07:16:07 am »
Hi, guys.
I am climber from Shanghai China. This is my first time in the forum.
I like big wall very much, but there is less related information and coacher I can find in China.
Where do I can find big wall technology information for junior level?
Many thanks.

Hello, New guy.
I bet you have many Big Walls in China......If available, Mike Straussman or John Long both published books on bigwall climbing That are worth looking about for. I wouldn't know about their availability in China.
Maybe one of these other guys here will chime in with a suggestion or two.

Good luck!

Welcome, kiss15...

Some of the best signal-to-noise ratio is found right here, I think. A person can ask a basic question without having a legion of failed comics vie for who can post the cutest non-answer the quickest. Yea, there are only eight of us got a problem with that? I don't think there are any big wall questions that are below being answered here, assuming the asker has working knowledge of free climbing.

Keep reading the books as suggested. Freedom of the Hills is a perennial standard publication. SuperTopo's Road to the Nose is a useful tool. I think websites are essential because no big walls book is absolutely current or complete. Not enough money in big walls, thank god.

Cheers, rock on.
Say no to limbers, excavators and retro-bolters. No matter how much he smiles.
