Electric Ladyland or Afro Man topo anyone?
« on: October 20, 2009, 04:37:58 pm »
Does anyone have the EL or AM topo on WC? I'm thinking I want to try something less traveled, Mideast Crisis is a option but for some reason I want to do something not in the Super Topo...

Thanks,

Zac

do you mean Electric Ladyland?

The first pitch is pretty infamous.  From my understanding it is pretty serious A3+ or A4 DFU.  Just what I heard from a guy who bailed off it some years ago...

Electric Lanyard, anyone?
Sorry, Caz, I couldn't help it.
Any one of the 3 you mentioned would be totally worthy to do.
The Column is quite cool, except for the last pitch, on most routes, it seems.
Get up there, man!

Don Reid has it. Is it out of print?

On a cursory search, many copies of Reid's Yosemite Climbs Big Walls available. A must-have for any serial wall rat...

Email Nanook.  He probably has an updated topo.  We did Electric Ladyland in June of 07.  Get on it! TR is on ST.  Too lazy to look it up right now.  I'll edit it in later.  Right now would be the best time for the first real pitch.  It seeps water and might be dry right now.  It was a slimey mess when we did it.

OK. True that I got off route on pitch 2 and did some of Ten Days After.  I missed the hooks going right for the expando going up and a little left.

Got unlazyed:  http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/400690/Electric_Ladyland_PhotoTR

Right on, Theron. I know you're always up for a ball busting, my friend.

You got a bail biner of ours, anyway, haha. Spied it at Moses World HQ, sure enough my mark was on it. Gabe peeled off a teensie hook flake and tweaked his ankle pretty good on that whatever pitch, fell right onto those jagged blocks at the belay just as his only so-so nut came tight. HB offsets rule. Zephyr charged through that on a beak tip and some athletic traversing, impressive to watch. Don't think we got any shots of that. Cheers.

Always good far some ball bustin'.  Keeps things honest.

I even tried to give the biner back.  I use it for test fitting stuff.  ;)

Cool vid and a great way to ring in the new year.

Erik does a good job on the TR's.  I like his Lost World TR too.
