anybody else have troubles with tools.
« on: October 29, 2009, 03:37:57 pm »
I herd chongo had a problem with some tools.
I was wondering what was wrong with the tools?
I also have had problems.
Not only with the tools.
Also with the people where I found the tools.
This is only happening to me in yosemite valley.
Can anyone shed some light on the subject of tools?

Chongo's problem with tools is he talks too much about them and doesn't use them enough.

Buy the best tools you can. You get what you pay for.

Chongo's tool problems wore funny hats.
I avoid those. Limit impact.

Or somethin'......

Did those funny hats try to push him face first into a fire while he was nursing a broken knee and sleeping?

Avoiding Ranger scrutiny in YV is piss easy. All it takes is common sense and a little stealth. I've barely even tried and been successful for 25 years.

WTF are doing with a fire? National parks are not for convalescence. Go find some NF or BLM land. Anyone fucking up like that gets thumbs down from me. You're doing a disservice to every climber who flies under radar. Lame as hell.

OMG, tears of laughter. That has to be one of the funniest things I've read in awhile. British!!!!!! Priceless typos.

My day has--quite assuredly--thus far, reached its apex.

Sorry you got tooled but I have to say that a little stealth goes a long way.  I think your ancestors were known for that (stealth/low impact/flying under the radar)?  Take a lesson and move on?  Mike. looks more Aussie to me. I dunno, somthin' 'bout him.  ;)

A couple days before Xmas a few years back I really enjoyed the Toolz attempt for the record of Slowest Nighttime Ascent of Upper Right Ski Track in Jtree.

- Initial denial it was rangers doing the ascent.
- Assurance that the party of 3 would be "dealt with".  Really,. you need 6 Tool-mobiles for that?
- Squealing tires to chase down our various spot lights, hehe
- Claims from Mr. Pillsbury Doughboy that "When I climb I don't like people shining light at me!".  "You climb?"  Bwaahahaha!
- A rangerette almost tripped on one of our crew who was laying against a rock in the dark watching the whole 3 ring circus from rather close up, scaring the crap out of Mrs. Tool.  "Just enjoying the park, ma'am."

Good times.

hammok-soloer,

Sorry your stuff was stolen. It's a big problem in the Parks. It's been a issue at Joshua Tree too.

Not to be a dick but...

You sound like a tool yourself. Did you come over here from RC.com? To be honest, every topic you start and everything you post is nothing but starting shit and bitching about rules. It sounds like when You are in the Valley it's people like you is the reason that the rangers give climbers a hard time. Maybe you should listen to people that have been around for a long time and know what they are talking about and keep your mouth shut...

It sounds like you were charged for some things that are against the law but you don't agree with. Do you bitch when you get a speeding ticket too?

Just so you know some things you are saying just don't make sense. There's 2 sides to every story and I'd like to here what the rangers and the dnc people have to say. I'm guessing there's a very different story there.

If you don't like what I'm saying, maybe you should try and slander me and try and avoid me while I'm in the Valley. Or if you want to man up and have this conversation face to face, come find me. I'm 6'4" with brown hair and green eyes, and weigh 230 lbs. I drive a black Dodge Magnum with black rims, so if you see this car at the bridge I'm in the Valley...

By the way you sound like a child when you say things like

"and I personaly think that you are if fact a gay rights activist"

Wow buddy, stuff like that really shows your manhood...

Then this...

"yosemite is full of sellouts
and gay people too"

and in the same post...

"I was humble and enjoyed meeting the large diversity of people "

Yeah right, really humble! Sounds like you like diversity!!!

So if your here just to be a d-bag, go back to RC.com...

Wrong Zac buddy, please don't confuse me for him. He's a way better climber than I am...

First of all, who said anything about fighting? I just want to talk face to face. I haven't been in a fight since my freshman year of high school. I've found that people don't say the same things face to face then when they are hiding behind a keyboard.

So what if you boulder V10, I took on a 5.8 yesterday in J-tree and I got to the  summit of a wall last month after bailing off of 6 walls in 2 years. Are you a better climber than me??? Yes... Are you a better person than me??? Not sure, hard to tell if we are just comparing climbing ability...

Compton... No... LBC, I live next door to Snoop...

Diversity... Let's talk about this now...

You said and I quote AGAIN

"I was humble and enjoyed meeting the large diversity of people"

You said large diversity of people... are you excluding people that are gay? Is this just gay men or are you encompassing women also? I'm almost positive that if you spent as much time at the bridge as you say, you've met a couple of gay men and women. I'd even say that a couple of them might of been climbers too... So are you excluding any boulder problem under V2 when you say...

"There is a large diversity of boulder problems in yosimity and I will bet that you will find that these boulders are  in fact not gay.

by the way you spelled Yosemite wrong along with a couple of other things

If your trying to make a point here, you're not doing a good job. As a matter of fact, when you slander people that are well liked and talk about a group of people in a negative and ignorant way, you just sound like an idiot.

um... I don't care you don't have a car...

Now when you said...

"You are ...........exposing your self as an extremly arrogant dick but"

You ended with the word but... Now did you have something else to say like... dick but, I can see your point...  OR did you really mean to type the word BUTT, if so, you are talking about homos and penises and butts a lot. If I was to guess, you may have some deep seeded daddy issues and are questioning your own sexuality and are acting out to anyone who you don't agree with. Just a thought...

I'm gonna go with the first one and guess you didn't finish your thought and wanted to leave me thinking about what you were going to say...

Oh and as far as me needing a woman in my life, maybe I don't need a woman in my life... Maybe I'm gay... Maybe I have a woman in my life and she's sitting next to me as I type this in the house we live in... Or maybe I just have the hots for you and the only way I can show it is to point out how stupid your being...
(probably not the first or third...)

Listen up buddy...

You broke the law... The Law sucks sometimes but it's there... Do your time and quit your bitching...

You shouldn't admit breaking the law on web sites...

"I was bivying 50 yards from when you soloed excaliber."

That is confessing your guilt by the way...

Are you trying to be Chongo or something? Remember he's living under a bridge in Sacramento now.

Happy Halloween!
I do this for fun...

This forum is the one salvation I have for honest information, those who post here have a mutual respect for each other.  Many times issues get heated but there is always a good ending to the topic.

You talked shit on your partner while he dragged you up a classic valley grade V.

I would have left you at the belay and soloed off.

I personally will never respond to another thread that you start.  I recommend the same to others who enjoy the spirit this forum contains.

Cheers,
Mucci

P.S. People like you are the reason I have to use a camo bivy sack!

Everyone...

I want to say that I'm sorry to everyone for feeding into this useless babble. Sometimes I have a hard time with intolerant behavior to a group of people and attacks against friends and people I respect. I should have just left this alone

hammok-soloer

I want to say I'm sorry for my passive aggressive comments and and my cryptic word play. Just to clear things up I'm am not gay and I was not hitting on you. I was just trying to get under your skin, and I'm sorry for that. I have a brother that is gay and get pissed off when people are intolerant.

Back to the original topic.

No I have not ever had problems with the Rangers in Yosemite. I try and keep a low profile while I am out there and I don't camp OB. When I come up to the Valley for a wall I plan my trip so I can drive in hike my gear into the climb and start all in the same day, or I get a hotel room outside the park. If I'm  planning on free climbing and not being on a wall I either go to C4 or reserve a site else where. In general I just try and stay clear of the Rangers and try not to do anything that will give them a reason to hassle me. I don't agree with every rule and law, but that's the way it is, and if I have to obey the law to be there I will in order to have a good time.
