NW Face of Higher Cathedral Spire 5/10
« on: May 17, 2010, 11:49:04 am »
Who's done this classic?

Seems like a prefect Summer wall--Column-sized, shorter approach than Column, all day shade, insane view o Captain.

Merlin and bro,

clipping the bolt in the Chimney o Horrors before Giant Cams, hahahaha

super cool views

I think Robert Newsom was up there awhile back, when Coiler was on his Spire kick.

Here's an updated topo in pencil for now. Classic route. Would be awesome if next party could replace a couple old bolts.

cheers

Nah, we were dodging storms so did it over three consecutive work days for me--not that deluxe but we pulled it off.

Just talked to Tom McMillan this weekend and he agreed it's a grade 6 for most folks, especially considering there is no bivy ledge.

Awesome, awesome summer wall though. Relatively moderate approach, no Sun on route, insane views.
