Jardine Traverse
« on: August 19, 2010, 12:00:40 pm »
Hey guys,
this september we are going to climb the nose on el cap. To be faster i think climbing Jardine traverse would be a good way not to loose much time in trying to grap the hold on King Swing.
Do you agree? Or dont you recommend Jardine Traverse? Thanks for your answers...

Like I said over on Supertopo, if it is your first time up the Nose definately do the King Swing. It's these classic features that make such a great route. You will be disappointed later on if you don't.

Skully LOL, and like I posted on Super Topo as well I think you would be missing a lot of the fun by not climbing the Boot and doing the swing. I dont think you are really going to save yourself that much time by doing the traverse instead.

You miss a few classic pitches and the route's best bivi if you take the chisel traverse.

And the swing is way fun!

Off route, haha...

Just say no.

Johnny-come-lately's chipping and drilling holes to make an existing route conform to their sole vision are pussies who lack the vision and initiative to put up their own route. That's why Jardine was heckled out of the Valley. And why others should be.
Say no to limbers, excavators and retro-bolters. No matter how much he smiles.

hehe ^^^

Yeah gotta go to the boot man. What a cool place. You will have fun, and quit worrying about time. Just look at the pitch at hand and climb. You will make it to the top if you don't think about the top to much.

Hmmm...

The best parts of the Nose:

The Stove Legs,
El Cap Towers,
Boot Flake,
The King Swing,
The Great Roof,
Pancake Flake,
The Changing Corners,
The Last Pitch.

Hmmm... don't see the Jardine traverse anywhere in that list.
